Students seeking to join the Archbishop Mitty Speech and Debate Team must fill out the appropriate form below as well as attend an in-person callback audition on Friday, May 3. The in-person audition will last an hour and involve some Q&A, group activities, and other short speaking exercises.

Auditions are required because many students will be placed in the class period(s) to begin the start of the year. MSD is one team, but some students are in a class period and others are a part of what we call the after school team. There will be a limited number of spots in the Debate Class and the Speech Class next year. The class is a greater time commitment than the after school team, but both have equal competitive and cultural opportunities. We will have consistent weekly/ biweekly after-school practices open to all team members for tournament preparation. We will make a final roster decision for all placements. We will release the roster in May. Students who do not get their first choice are encouraged to reach out with their questions or reapply the following Spring.
